In Nafplio hole ich mir heute meine Inspiration vom Bauernmarkt.
Ich liebe diese besondere Atmosphäre: die Farben, die Düfte, die Fülle, das unmittelbare Leben. Zwischen frischen Früchten, Gemüse und den Menschen, die hier mit der Erde, den Jahreszeiten und ihren Produkten verbunden sind, entsteht für mich ein Raum der Aufmerksamkeit. Ein Ort, an dem sich das Wesentliche zeigt.
Mich fasziniert die sinnliche Präsenz von Früchten und Gemüse – ihre Formen, ihre Farbigkeit, ihre natürliche Eigenwilligkeit. In meiner künstlerischen Arbeit verbinde ich diese Elemente immer wieder mit meinen Frauenbildern. Daraus entstehen Bildräume, in denen Lebendigkeit, Lebenskraft und Natur nicht nur als Motiv erscheinen, sondern als innere Haltung und als Ausdruck tiefer Verbundenheit.
Dabei geht es für mich um Wachstum, Reife, Verletzlichkeit und Stärke, um Fülle und Vergänglichkeit, aber auch um die Frage, wie eng menschliche Existenz und natürliche Ressourcen miteinander verwoben sind. Gerade an einem Ort wie diesem wird mir bewusst, wie kostbar diese Reserven sind und wie wichtig es ist, sie zu schützen und zu achten. Wir stehen der Natur nicht gegenüber – wir sind Teil von ihr. Was sie uns schenkt, ist nicht selbstverständlich, sondern wertvoll und verdient Achtsamkeit und Dankbarkeit.
So wird der Bauernmarkt in Nafplio für mich nicht nur zu einem Ort der Inspiration, sondern auch zu einem Ort der Erinnerung: daran, dass künstlerisches Arbeiten, bewusste Wahrnehmung und Respekt vor der Natur untrennbar miteinander verbunden sind.
Today in Nafplio, I am gathering my inspiration at the farmers’ market.
I love this special atmosphere: the colors, the scents, the abundance, the immediacy of life. Among fresh fruit, vegetables, and the people who are connected to the earth, the seasons, and their produce, a space of attentiveness opens up for me. A place where the essential becomes visible. I am fascinated by the sensual presence of fruit and vegetables – their shapes, their colors, their natural uniqueness. In my artistic work, I return again and again to combining these elements with my images of women. From this, pictorial spaces emerge in which vitality, life force, and nature appear not only as motifs, but as an inner attitude and as an expression of deep connection.
For me, this is about growth, ripeness, vulnerability and strength, abundance and transience, but also about the question of how closely human existence and natural resources are intertwined.
Especially in a place like this, I become aware of how precious these reserves are and how important it is to protect and honor them. We do not stand apart from nature – we are part of it. What it gives us is not something to be taken for granted, but something valuable that deserves mindfulness and gratitude.
In this way, the farmers’ market in Nafplio becomes for me not only a place of inspiration, but also a place of remembrance: a reminder that artistic work, conscious perception, and respect for nature are inseparably connected.
