I spent three months living and painting on Crete—accompanied by the sound of the sea, the scent of wild herbs, the sun on my skin, and the constant interplay of light and shadow. The South became a source of inspiration for me, a mirror of inner processes. During this intense period, powerful paintings emerged that portray female figures in various states of consciousness—vulnerable, searching, radiant, and free.
My inspiration came not only from Crete—the olive grove at Vedahof, whose quiet strength and beauty are reflected in my works, also inspired these paintings.
The series “Im Bann des Südens” is my artistic diary of this journey—filled with impressions, memories, and emotions that transform into light and color on the canvas. It is a homage to sensual experience, to solitude in vastness, and to the profound connection between nature and the body. “Nature, solitude, the sea—all of this opened my perception. I didn’t just paint; I listened to what was awakening within me.”
For the first time, these works are being presented outdoors—in the Nature Arena at Vedahof, a special place that stands for peace, mindfulness, and connection. Here, where art, nature, and silence meet, my paintings unfold their full strength. Shown are both original works and weatherproof, limited-edition art prints designed for outdoor display.
Feeling connected. Just painting.
All it takes is a brush, a canvas, and this special place… Crete. I feel alive, open, real. The vastness, the light, the silence. I paint what moves me.
I’m so grateful for this freedom, for the gift of being here. And for arriving a little more within myself.
Barefoot on the beach, saltwater between my toes, the waves whisper their stories. Here on the shores of Crete, I continue painting a piece that is very close to my heart – a woman deeply connected to water, nature, and what lives within her. The sun, the wind, the sound of the sea – everything flows into my work. In moments like these, I feel why I’m here. Not just to paint, but to BE. Free, wild, vulnerable, creative. I’m grateful for this place – and for you, who walk this path with me.
